Peter Moore and David Zinczenko are the authors of the book ‘Eight-hour Diet – Watch the Pounds Disappear Without Watching what you eat’. ‘The Eight- hour Diet’ is a chapter of this book through which the authors strongly convince the readers that they can eat whatever they want without gaining extra weight on their body, even lose some pounds. This means the wish of the food lover will come true at the end.

The diet has one very important rule that need to be respected by each who wants to take this regime, and that is eating only in a time interval of 8 hours. After that 8 hours pass no meal is allowed to be eaten.

So far several diets that are following this concept exist, which means that the ‘Eight-hour Diet’ is not something new that recommends normal care and post replacement. The benefits of this diet concept are explained through the medical theory that the human body is organized to go through periods of more eating and period of fasting when small amount of food is consumed.

Once you know that you can lose weight by eating everything that you want during a time framework of 8 hours, the greatest question follows: When are the ideal 8 hours to enjoy the food? The several diets that are following this concept argues that the hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. are the ideal one to consume the food, but in practice results have been shown that even to change that period, for between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., it is not going to make a great difference. Despite which period among the argued you are going to use, the most important is to eat food that will consist all the calories planned for that day.

These leads to the moment that you can adjust your 8-hours interval according to your daily activities and the same may be different for each day of the week. When start practising this diet, the eight-hour interval of food intake need to be within 3 days, and later increase the same to 7 days.

The greatest thing about this diet is that you can eat any type of food that you want, but it does not mean that the same need to be excuse for overdoing it. The only thing that you need to avoid during this diet are the sweet drinks because the calories that these (non)alcoholic drinks contain are not included in the diet. This means that these drinks are not forbidden to you at all and you can consume the same but moderately. The easiest thing about this diet is that you do not have to follow strict plan as with the other diets and your weight will be lost by itself without taking care of how many calories you have intake today.

We came to the part to explain to you how this diet actually works. The same gives to your organism a break when you are consuming food for a period of eight hours only. Thence your body is allowed to eliminate all the toxins correctly and process the nutrients effectively.  The same gives a stimulation to the mitochondria, something that is defined as an energy source inside your body cells. This means that the diet is actually minimizing the production of energy in your organism and lower energy means reduced level of intracellular damaged that usually appears as result of a poor nutrition. The same has benefits in terms of reducing the risk of cancer, diabetes, heart diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, and reduced aging.

In this fast era of living, where greater is the number of people who spends 9 hours at work in a sitting position without burning most of the calories that have consumed, this diet is an ideal one for them. The same allows your organism to consume food for 8 hours per day and the rest 16 hours to spend in relaxation and rest.

Zinczenko and Moore have made an example of a menu for a day if you decide to follow this diet. The example menu is the following:

– After getting up drink water, tea, or coffee;

– Take the breakfast at 10 a.m. The same may be consisted of: glass of milk, coffee, tea, muesli, one piece of fruit, toast, or scrambled eggs;

– Snake whenever you want: for example, buns or cake from expanded cereals;

– Lunch whenever you want. You may have 1 apple, 2 pizzas, homemade chips or French fries;

– Snack when you feel desire for it. This snake may consist of 1 ice cream, 1 cake, or fruit of choice;

– Dinner at 6 p.m. strictly. The dinner may include: white chicken meat, steamed broccoli, 2 boiled potatoes (dress them with a buttermilk if you want), ice cream.

The authors of the diet explain that you should feel happy and satisfied with this diet because you have 8 hours to eat plenty of food from different varieties, and the 16-hour gap should not be a problem for you.

As with any diet, this suggests integrating the practise of exercises too. For satisfying results it is very important your body to do some physical activities while you are consuming your food in an interval of 8 hours.
